About Penny
Penny Sommer is President of Powerful Edge Coaching, LLC. She is certified professional coach trained by NC State Business Coaching Institute and Colorado-based Newfield Network, both affiliated with the International Coach Federation. She is a certified Hogan Assessment Partner.
She has over twenty years in sales and marketing with organziations including Eastman Chemical Company and Lee Hecht Harrison, a global Talent Management Organization where she held the postion of Vice President, Business Development. She spent eight years in the professional employer industry where she worked with entrepreneurs to develop a human resource infrastructure for their organizations. Penny held the position of Director of Small Business Council of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in North Carolina. She is a member of International Coach Federation, as well as Charlotte Women Executives and National Association of Women Business Owners.
Career Transition Coaching
Unique challenges call for unique solutions. Penny has experienced career transition, and she has several years of expertise as vice president with a global career transition firm. Her stratetic approach to career transition coaching is empathetic yet practical providing structure, motivation, and encouragement. Her clients identify their true passions, talents, skills, and learn creative ways to approach career change.
Organizational Coaching
Penny works with organizations providing talent management solutions from hiring to engaging and retaining key talent. As a Hogan Behavioral Assessment Partner, she employs the results of the assessments to increase self-awareness and identify potential derailers in the workplace.
